What To See At The Witness Garden Show 2019

The Witness Garden Show has a lot to offer! Take a walk around the grounds and you’ll find everything from plants to pot, clothes, tasty treat and fully built gardens.

The Feature Gardens

Undoubtedly the highlight of the show is the feature gardens. Displays of new ideas and showcasing talented designers, this is the place to be. The large hall will be filled with beautiful flowers and plants in displays that will take your breath away. 5 municipalities will be showcasing what they do around their cities by building beautiful gardens. This year will feature two show garden design competitions. One will feature gardens built by professional landscapers while the other one is for any gardener to participate in.

Spring Dog Agility Show

Border Collie Rescue KZN and South African Dog Agility Association KZN (SADAA) present a spectacular dog agility show for all levels of dogs and handlers.

Spring Dog Show

The Spring Dog Show is always one of the highlights of The Witness Garden Show. There will be a number of dogs and handlers on their best behaviour; strutting their stuff in front of the judges in a championship show.

Where: Cattle Arena


The Mayford Tipple Terrace and Posh Nosh Hall

Enjoy a snack or lunch from the large selection in the food hall and relax on the terrace while taking in the antics of the dogs on the main arena and sipping on a gin cocktail.

Floriate Displays

Local floral artists show off their skill in stunning floral displays. Click here if you would like to participate.

The Schools Gardens

Our local schools gather every year a few days before the show opens to build mini gardens. The talents of these youngsters is something to see and the competition between the schools makes them work harder. Sponsored by the Coca Cola Beverage Company, the results of these gardens are on display for the show.

The Icing Hall

It is always amazing to see what a group of people can do with sugar. Fantastic iced cakes and beautifully realistic sugar art will captivate all.

The Specialist Plant Hall

Specialist growers fill this hall with exotic plants from orchids, clivias and echeverias, to air plants, bromeliads and bonsais. Get in order before the best are sold.

Quilting Hall

The Midland Quilter’s Guild shows off their beautiful quilts to the public and participate in a quilting competition for prizes going to the best quilts.

Midlands 4×4 track

The guys from the Midland’s 4×4 club set up and take you around their tricky course on the main arena. Dare to climb in the car with them and have fun testing the driver’s skills.

Art Show

A selection of local artist work will be on display and for sale. The  Underberg Art Club display their beautifull landscape and incredible nguni cow art amongst lots more!

Working with Wood

Working with Wood returns to The Witness Garden Show this year. Top South African and international demonstrators will share their woodworking skills and crafts from woodturning, carving, chair-making, sharpening, pyrography, boatbuilding to furniture making. Everything timber-related and eco-related, from mobile milling of slabs, to fine furniture and sculptures, sustainable alternatives for the home and natural resource management displays. The latest leading international brands will all be on display, used in the demos and for sale from Vermont Sales.

Drakewood’s Tool Expo

The guys from Drakewood’s display and demonstrate how to use their wide selection of great tools.

Shopping ranging from plants and gardening equipment to the latest gadgets and gardening goodies we can’t do without.

Where: Halls 6, 7, 8, Village Green and general outdoor areas. 


Braai Land

Join the lads to see who the ultimate braai chef is at Braai Land.

Starke Ayres Kidz Zone and 4Kids Carnival

This space is all about the children! Bring your kids down to the Starke Ayres Kidz Zone and 4Kids Carnival and let them have fun, exploring and playing while you find your perfect plant.

Craft Hall

The Crafts Hall will be working in conjunction with the Midlands Woodworkers Guild, which turns 30 years; to promote Arts, Crafts and hobbies, at this year’s Witness Garden Show.
