The Disconnected Tree
The Planets ever-contracting bounties.
The second law of thermodynamics holds that all matter is subject to decay – and ultimately ceases – in the absence of nurture and care.
The soft textures, eclectic colour and mix of foliage illustrates that which is in harmony with God’s creation.
Conversely, the barren ‘dislocated’ tree is indicative of the end result when degradation and environmental abuse becomes the norm.
If perpetuated, nothing but a picture – illustrated by way of the backdrop – will remain.
The Royal Showgrounds is one of the larger conference, wedding and exhibition facilities in South Africa, and display aspects akin to that on show are frequently included at these times to soften stages, entry points and walkways.
