South African flower arrangers head to Barbados

Every three years the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA) meet for the World Flower Show, bringing floral artists from around the world together to exchange ideas and trends in flower arranging. This year’s show entitled ‘Flowers in Paradise’ will be an awe inspiring spectacle of the creative abilities of floral artists from around the globe – including South Africa. Representing our country this year are Vaughn Harrington (South African Floral Union President), Jill Hoskin from Port Elizabeth who is one of the judges, Elsa Kolver from Bloemfontein is also judging and Gail Tavener, also from Port Elizabeth, who will be doing the SAFU honourary design (she won this honour, competing against 20 people, at the SAFU Congress 2015).

The creativity that these ladies have is amazing as can be seen at The Witness Garden Show in September, when the floral displays of these and many others can be seen at the show. We wish them all the best in paradise!

Barbados through the local national Flower Club Barbados Association of Floral Artists will be hosting WAFA from July 2014-June 2017.
